These quick and easy mummy pigs in a blanket are made with crescent roll dough wrapped around cocktail sausages, baked until golden, and finished with mustard eyes. Perfect for Halloween parties or a cozy late-night snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1216 cocktail sausages or mini hot dogs (about 1 pound)
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 large egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water or milk (for egg wash)
  • Optional: sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic powder, everything bagel seasoning, ketchup, marinara sauce, cheese strips, puff pastry

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Unroll crescent dough onto a cutting board. Press seams together if using perforated dough to create a solid sheet.
  3. Cut dough lengthwise into strips about 1/2 inch wide (8-10 strips per sheet).
  4. Wrap each sausage with a dough strip, leaving a small gap in the middle for the eyes. Overlap dough slightly and tuck ends under the sausage.
  5. Place wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet, about 1 inch apart.
  6. Brush tops with egg wash.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool 2-3 minutes. Use a toothpick to dot two small drops of mustard onto the exposed sausage for eyes.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

Keep dough cold for easier handling. Do not overwrap sausages; leave a little space for dough to expand. Add mustard eyes after baking to prevent drying out. Can be prepped up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerated before baking.
