Cozy Christmas Tree Cake Dip with Sprinkles – Easy 5-Minute Dessert

Christmas Tree Cake Dip - featured image

This creamy, fluffy dip combines cream cheese, vanilla frosting, and crushed Christmas Tree cake cookies for a nostalgic holiday treat that comes together in just 5 minutes. Perfect for parties, cookie swaps, or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tub (16 oz) vanilla frosting
  • 1 box (about 10 oz) Christmas Tree cake cookies, crushed
  • Extra sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese. Take your cream cheese out of the fridge about 30 minutes before you start. If you forgot, you can microwave it in 10-second bursts until it’s soft but not melted. Cut it into cubes first for faster softening.
  2. Crush the Christmas Tree cakes. Open the box and take out the cookies. Place them in a ziploc bag and seal it, squeezing out the air. Use your hands to break them into pieces, then roll over the bag with a rolling pin until you have a mix of fine crumbs and small chunks. You want some texture, not dust. Set aside about a quarter of the crushed cookies for topping later.
  3. Beat the cream cheese. In your large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with your hand mixer on medium speed until it’s smooth and creamy—about 30 seconds. Scrape down the sides with your spatula.
  4. Add the frosting. Spoon the entire tub of vanilla frosting into the bowl with the cream cheese. Beat on low speed at first (so it doesn’t fly everywhere), then increase to medium and mix until everything is combined and fluffy. About 1 minute total. Scrape the bowl again.
  5. Fold in the crushed cookies. Add most of the crushed Christmas Tree cakes (save that reserved quarter for the top). Use your spatula to fold them in gently. You want them distributed evenly, but don’t overmix or the dip will lose its fluffiness. Stop as soon as you don’t see any dry spots.
  6. Transfer to serving dish. Spoon the dip into your serving dish and spread it out evenly. Sprinkle the reserved crushed cookies on top, then add your extra sprinkles. Go heavy on the sprinkles—this is the fun part.
  7. Chill (optional but recommended). You can serve this right away, but I like to pop it in the fridge for about 15-20 minutes before serving. It firms up slightly and the flavors meld together. If you’re serving it immediately, it will be a bit softer and more dippable—both ways are delicious.

Notes

For best results, use full-fat cream cheese and regular (not whipped) vanilla frosting. Let the dip chill for 15-20 minutes before serving to firm up slightly. The dip can be made up to 2 days in advance; add sprinkles just before serving. Leftovers keep in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
