A happy accident turned into a cozy, non-alcoholic mule mocktail with tart cranberry, bright orange, and spicy ginger beer. Perfect for quiet nights, holiday parties, or any time you need a comforting, sophisticated drink in under 5 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ounces (120 ml) cranberry juice (100% unsweetened, e.g., Lakewood Organic)
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) freshly squeezed orange juice (about 1 medium orange)
  • 4 ounces (120 ml) ginger beer (e.g., Fever-Tree or Q Mixers)
  • 1/2 ounce (15 ml) fresh lime juice (about half a lime)
  • 1/2 ounce (15 ml) simple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
  • Ice (preferably large cubes)
  • Fresh cranberries (for garnish)
  • Orange slice or wheel (for garnish)
  • Fresh rosemary sprig (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Fill a copper mug or highball glass with ice. For best results, chill the mug in the freezer for 10 minutes beforehand.
  2. Pour in 4 ounces (120 ml) of cranberry juice.
  3. Add 2 ounces (60 ml) of freshly squeezed orange juice and stir gently to combine.
  4. Squeeze in 1/2 ounce (15 ml) of fresh lime juice.
  5. If using, add 1/2 ounce (15 ml) of simple syrup. Adjust based on sweetness of your juice.
  6. Slowly pour 4 ounces (120 ml) of ginger beer down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation.
  7. Stir gently with a long spoon, just a few rotations to combine.
  8. Garnish with fresh cranberries, an orange slice or wheel, and a sprig of fresh rosemary (slap the rosemary between your hands first to release oils).
  9. Taste and adjust: add more lime for tartness or more simple syrup for sweetness.
  10. Serve immediately while bubbly and cold.

Notes

For best results, use 100% unsweetened cranberry juice and a high-quality ginger beer like Fever-Tree. Fresh citrus is essential—bottled juice will taste flat. Large ice cubes melt slower and keep the drink from watering down. The rosemary garnish adds an aromatic touch that elevates the drink. To make ahead for a party, combine cranberry juice, orange juice, lime juice, and simple syrup in a pitcher and refrigerate up to 24 hours; pour over ice and top with ginger beer when serving.
