These adorable mummy-shaped pigs in a blanket are wrapped in flaky crescent dough and served with a tangy, spicy mustard dip. Perfect for Halloween parties or a fun snack any time of year.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 24 mini smoked sausages or little smokies
  • 24 candy eyeballs (optional)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough on a clean cutting board. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 strips to get 24 strips total.
  3. Wrap each mini smoked sausage with a strip of dough, leaving a small gap near the top for the face. Press the end to seal.
  4. Place the wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each.
  5. In a small bowl, beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water. Brush the tops of each mummy with the egg wash. Sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if using.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the dough is puffed and golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes. Gently press a candy eyeball into the exposed sausage on each mummy.
  8. While the mummies bake, combine mayonnaise, spicy brown mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, cayenne (if using), and a pinch of salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Whisk until smooth.
  9. Serve the mummies warm or at room temperature with the spicy mustard dip.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature dough to prevent cracking. Don’t over-wrap the sausages; leave gaps for the mummy look. The dip can be made up to 3 days in advance and actually improves in flavor. To reheat, use an oven or air fryer; avoid microwaving.
