These cheesy bacon ranch deviled eggs are the perfect last-minute potluck dish, combining smoky bacon, tangy ranch, and sharp cheddar for a creamy, savory appetizer that disappears fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large eggs
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish
  • Fresh chives or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a single layer in a large pot. Cover with cold water by about an inch. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, cover the pot, turn off the heat, and let sit for exactly 12 minutes.
  2. While eggs sit, fill a large bowl with ice and cold water. After 12 minutes, transfer eggs to the ice bath using a slotted spoon. Let sit for at least 5 minutes.
  3. Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes, flipping once. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Once cool, crumble into small pieces.
  4. Peel the eggs by gently tapping each on the counter to crack the shell, then rolling between palms. Start peeling from the wider end. Run under cold water if needed.
  5. Slice each egg in half lengthwise. Pop out yolks into a medium mixing bowl. Arrange white halves on a serving platter.
  6. Mash yolks with a fork until crumbly. Add mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, and about 2 tablespoons of ranch seasoning mix. Stir until smooth. Fold in half the shredded cheese and half the crumbled bacon. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Spoon filling into a piping bag or zip-top bag with a corner snipped off. Pipe filling into each egg white half. Alternatively, spoon filling in and smooth the top.
  8. Sprinkle remaining cheese and bacon over the top. Dust with paprika. Garnish with chives or green onions if desired. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready.

Notes

Use eggs at least a week old for easier peeling. Shred cheese from a block to avoid grainy filling. Don’t overmix the filling to keep it light. Serve chilled but not ice-cold; let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Not recommended for freezing.
