This festive wreath-shaped pizza combines crispy pepperoni, gooey mozzarella, and a golden crust for a quick, kid-approved holiday dinner that comes together in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (about 8 oz)
  • 3–4 oz pepperoni slices (about 40–50 slices)
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing pan)
  • ½ cup marinara sauce (for dipping, optional)
  • ¼ cup ranch dressing (for dipping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the rack in the center position. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and brush lightly with olive oil.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 12×16 inches. If the dough snaps back, let it rest for 5 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the pizza sauce with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Spread evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce.
  5. Arrange the pepperoni slices over the cheese in a single layer, overlapping slightly if needed.
  6. Starting from the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log, like a cinnamon roll. Pinch the seam to seal. Transfer the log to the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down. Bring the two ends together to form a circle, pinching them together to seal.
  7. Using a sharp knife or kitchen shears, make cuts about 1 inch apart along the outer edge of the wreath, cutting about ⅔ of the way through the dough. Gently twist each section slightly so the filling peeks out.
  8. Brush the entire wreath with the beaten egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water). Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if using.
  9. Bake for 18-22 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. Rotate the pan halfway through for even browning.
  10. Let the wreath cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Transfer to a cutting board, garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired, slice between the twisted sections, and serve warm with marinara or ranch for dipping.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free pizza dough and adjust baking time as needed. For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free cheese shreds. To prevent the wreath from unrolling, pinch the seam firmly and place seam-side down. If the cheese browns too quickly, tent with foil for the last 5 minutes. Let the wreath rest for 5 minutes before slicing to allow the cheese to set.
