A super easy, no-bake Christmas dessert dip made with cream cheese frosting and cream cheese, tinted green and loaded with sprinkles. Served with homemade sugar cookie dippers, it’s a fun, kid-friendly treat that comes together in 25 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (16 oz) cream cheese frosting (Pillsbury or Duncan Hines recommended)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • Green food coloring (gel or liquid)
  • 1/4 cup Christmas sprinkles
  • 1 tube (16.5 oz) refrigerated sugar cookie dough (Pillsbury recommended)
  • 1–2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for sprinkling on cookie dippers)
  • Optional for serving: graham crackers, pretzels, apple slices, vanilla wafers, star-shaped sprinkle or small pretzel stick

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Unwrap the sugar cookie dough and place on a lightly floured surface. Let sit at room temperature for 5 minutes if too hard.
  3. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick (roughly 8×10 inches).
  4. Cut the dough into strips about 1 inch wide and 4 inches long using a pizza cutter or sharp knife. You should get about 20-24 strips.
  5. Transfer strips to the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart.
  6. Sprinkle tops with granulated sugar.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges are just barely golden. Centers should still be soft.
  8. Let cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and entire can of cream cheese frosting.
  10. Beat with a hand mixer on medium speed until smooth and fully combined, about 2-3 minutes. Scrape down sides halfway through.
  11. Add green food coloring a few drops at a time, mixing well after each addition, until desired shade is reached (about 8-10 drops liquid or 4-5 drops gel).
  12. Fold in Christmas sprinkles using a spatula, reserving a tablespoon or two for topping. Do not overmix.
  13. Transfer dip to a serving bowl. Smooth the top with the back of a spoon. Optionally, create a slight well and top with a star sprinkle or small pretzel stick.
  14. Sprinkle reserved sprinkles over the top.
  15. Serve dip at room temperature with sugar cookie dippers and/or other dippers.

Notes

Make sure cream cheese is truly softened to avoid lumps. Do not overmix the dip to prevent graininess. Let cookie dippers cool completely before serving to ensure they are sturdy. The dip tastes even better the next day. For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free cream cheese and dairy-free vanilla frosting. For gluten-free, use gluten-free sugar cookie dough or serve with gluten-free graham crackers.
