These no-bake Oreo truffle balls are the ultimate kid-friendly Christmas treat. Made with just a few simple ingredients, they’re quick, easy, and perfect for making memories with your little ones.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 family-size package of Oreos (about 36 cookies)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • 12 ounces melting chocolate or candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or shortening
  • Christmas sprinkles, crushed candy canes, or red and green sanding sugar (for decoration)
  • Optional: white chocolate for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the entire package of Oreos (cookies and filling together) into a food processor. Pulse until you have fine crumbs, similar to wet sand. Alternatively, place cookies in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin.
  2. Mix the filling: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a large mixing bowl. Add the softened cream cheese, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Using a hand mixer on low speed or a spatula, mix until well combined. The mixture should look like a thick, dark dough. If too dry, add another tablespoon of cream cheese; if too sticky, add a few more crushed Oreos.
  3. Chill the mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  4. Roll the truffle balls: Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion out even amounts. Roll each portion between your palms to form a smooth ball. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. You should get about 30 to 36 truffle balls. Refrigerate for another 15 to 20 minutes.
  5. Melt the chocolate: Place melting chocolate and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until completely smooth and melted.
  6. Dip the truffles: Working with one at a time, drop a chilled truffle into the melted chocolate. Use a fork to gently roll it around until completely coated. Lift it out, tap the fork on the edge of the bowl to let excess chocolate drip off, then carefully slide the truffle onto the parchment paper.
  7. Add sprinkles: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle decorations on top.
  8. Let them set: Allow truffles to sit at room temperature until the chocolate is completely set, about 15 to 20 minutes. If in a hurry, refrigerate for 10 minutes.

Notes

For best results, use full-fat cream cheese and regular Oreos (not double-stuf). Chill the mixture thoroughly before rolling. Add a little coconut oil to the chocolate for a smoother coating. These taste even better the next day. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, or freeze for up to three months.
