A creamy, no-cook breakfast that combines rolled oats, chia seeds, and berries for a fiber-rich start to the day. Perfect for busy mornings, this recipe requires just 5 minutes of prep the night before.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk of choice (whole, oat, almond, or 2%)
  • 2 tablespoons (24g) chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup (120g) plain Greek yogurt
  • 1–2 tablespoons (15-30ml) honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup (140g) mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
  • Optional toppings: additional berries, nut butter, granola, dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients: In a jar or bowl, add 1 cup rolled oats, 2 tablespoons chia seeds, and a pinch of salt. Stir quickly to distribute the chia seeds.
  2. Add the wet ingredients: Pour in 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Do not stir yet.
  3. Stir thoroughly: Mix everything together for a full 30 seconds, scraping the bottom and sides to fully incorporate the chia seeds.
  4. Add the berries: Gently fold in 1 cup mixed berries. If using frozen berries, do not thaw them first.
  5. Seal and refrigerate: Put the lid on the jar and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight (8-12 hours).
  6. Stir and serve: In the morning, stir the oats. If too thick, add an extra tablespoon or two of milk. Add desired toppings and enjoy cold, or microwave for 45-60 seconds for a warm version.

Notes

For best texture, stir the mixture again 30 minutes after initial mixing to prevent chia clumps. The oats keep in the fridge for up to 5 days; for longer storage, add berries fresh each morning. Use certified gluten-free oats for a gluten-free version.
