A crisp, tart, and gingery mocktail that converts skeptics. Ready in 5 minutes with simple ingredients, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz cranberry juice (100% juice, not cocktail)
  • 2 oz ginger beer (not ginger ale)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice (about half a lime)
  • 2 oz sparkling water or club soda
  • Ice cubes (preferably large cubes or crushed ice)
  • Fresh cranberries (for garnish)
  • Lime wheel or wedge (for garnish)
  • Fresh rosemary sprig (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill your glass first. Pop your copper mug or highball glass in the freezer for 10-15 minutes, or fill with ice water while prepping ingredients, then dump out.
  2. Squeeze the lime. Roll the lime on the counter before cutting, cut in half, and squeeze about 1 oz of fresh lime juice into a small measuring cup. Strain out seeds.
  3. Fill the glass with ice. Fill almost to the top, using large ice cubes if possible.
  4. Pour the cranberry juice. Add 4 oz of cranberry juice directly over the ice.
  5. Add the lime juice. Pour in the 1 oz of fresh lime juice and stir gently to combine.
  6. Add the ginger beer. Pour 2 oz of ginger beer slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation.
  7. Top with sparkling water. Add 2 oz of sparkling water or club soda, pouring gently.
  8. Stir gently. Use a long spoon to stir once or twice, just enough to combine without losing carbonation.
  9. Garnish. Thread fresh cranberries onto a rosemary sprig and lay across the rim. Add a lime wheel on the side.
  10. Taste and adjust. Add more lime for tartness or simple syrup for sweetness if desired.

Notes

For a party, batch the cranberry juice and lime juice together (4 cups cranberry + 1 cup lime juice for 8 servings). Keep ginger beer and sparkling water separate until serving. For a lower-sugar version, use unsweetened cranberry juice and sugar-free ginger beer. For kids, substitute ginger ale for ginger beer.
