These Easy No-Bake Christmas Oreo Truffle Balls are a simple, crowd-pleasing holiday treat made with just Oreos, cream cheese, and melting chocolate. Perfect for cookie swaps, parties, or gifting, they require no oven and come together in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (14.3-ounce) package Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies, regular not double-stuf)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, but recommended)
  • 12 ounces melting chocolate or candy melts (white, dark, or milk chocolate)
  • 2–3 Oreo cookies, finely crushed (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the entire package of Oreos (filling and all) in your food processor. Pulse until you have fine, uniform crumbs. Set aside 2 tablespoons of the crumbs for garnish if desired.
  2. Soften the cream cheese: Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature. If needed, microwave in 10-second bursts until soft but not warm.
  3. Mix the filling: In a large bowl, combine crushed Oreos, softened cream cheese, and vanilla extract (if using). Mix with a hand mixer on low speed or a sturdy spatula until fully combined. The mixture should be thick, slightly sticky, and hold together when pressed.
  4. Chill the mixture: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until firm.
  5. Roll into balls: Using a small cookie scoop or lightly greased hands, roll the mixture into 1-inch balls. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for another 30 minutes to firm up.
  6. Melt the chocolate: Place chocolate wafers or chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until smooth and fully melted.
  7. Dip the truffles: Remove chilled truffle balls from the fridge. Using a fork, gently lower one ball into the melted chocolate. Spoon chocolate over the top to coat completely, then lift out, tapping gently to let excess drip off. Transfer to parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat with remaining truffles.
  8. Add garnish: While chocolate is still wet, sprinkle tops with reserved Oreo crumbs, sprinkles, or crushed candy canes. If using a drizzle, let chocolate coating set first (about 10 minutes), then drizzle with contrasting melted chocolate.
  9. Set completely: Place baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes to let chocolate fully harden. Serve or store.

Notes

Chill the mixture thoroughly before rolling to prevent sticking. Work in batches, keeping unused truffle balls in the fridge. If chocolate is too thick, stir in a teaspoon of coconut oil. For best results, let truffles sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before dipping to prevent coating from cracking. Truffles taste even better on day two as flavors meld.
